Dec 4 - Monday we had elementary school observations. It was really cold outside, and I got frozen coffee at lava Java that Day. And it made me even more cold!
Dec 5 - Tuesday, we continued our elementary observations.
Dec 6 & 7 - Wednesday we got into groups to work on our newsletters for "What's a Parent to do?" for elementary schools. This continued into Thursday.
Dec 8 - Friday, we actually went in the library and made our newsletters.
Dec 11 - Monday we had a guest speaker, Kimberly Kelly who talked about middle school. Michael said that his maturity was like a a light switch, he turns it on and off. Allison sits on her butt and does nothing.
Dec 12 - Tuesday we had middle school observations. I came to my former conclusion that my old principal has no clue what he is doing. He forgot to tell the people at the front office that Erin and I would be coming, so I didn't get to view the teacher that I wanted.
Dec 13 - Wednesday, we continued middle school observations. Aparently I look like I am in middle school because I was only there for a few minutes and a kid passed me a note thinking I was a new student I guess.
Dec 14 - Thursday we prepared for our mock high school teacher/parent conferences. Erin told me that she and Jen Mei were sisters and they were watching the child because their parents got in a freak orange truck accident. (lol)
Dec 15 - Friday we had our conferences and they were pretty cool. Jonathan, Allison, Kate & I decided to team up and share a son. The best thing was us all trying to fit on the two chairs!
********************************** Input from Mrs. Turner. The following week, we delivered Christmas surprises to the teachers at Mauldin and read a wonderful chapter from Ron Clark's Essential 55 on the importance of Random Acts of Kindness.
Mid-Term Brochure Presentations are due on January 9th. Mr. Kimbrell from Anderson University will be here to grade presenations and brochures!
Jessica, It sounds like you are keeping busy and I hope by observing you are finding out if teaching elementary school students is for you. I think you would be great in elementary or special ed. Love ya, Mom
