Monday, September 11, 2006: Mrs. Dicey came and read two books to us. We got to read Chrysanthemum and Rubie the Copycat. We got to learn that some kids aren’t happy with themselves so they make others feel bad to make themselves feel more important. We also learned that some kids copy one another to look more impressive. It was cool to act like a little kid again.

Tuesday, September 12, 2006: We got into class late because of the Senior Class Picture, but got an article to read and questions to answer on self-esteem. We handed out our “positive pot notes” to put in everyone’s individual pot. I think that the “positive pot notes” made everyone feel better about themselves.

Wednesday, September 13, 2006: We all got our desks in a circle and discussed the article, read our “snippets”, and had a discussion on them. I didn’t really like this, because we disagreed with one another on each other’s opinions, but some people didn’t agree on others.

Thursday, September 14, 2006: We found out that we didn’t need to be at school on Friday until 8:00 am so that we could leave for Anderson University on a field trip. We worked on our “Big Books” and “Puppet Shows” and prepared to take things home for the weekend.

Friday, September 15, 2006: We all got to school at 8:00 am, and left by 8:15. We got to Anderson University a little late, but still made it in time to go into different teams, so that we could take a tour of the campus. We then got to listen to teachers there, as well as students on their opinions of the college and their classes. We then had lunch, and continued to see the ensemble sing. They did a great job, and afterwards, we listened to the Teacher of the Year tell us a story, and other things as well. We then went back to the school and went home for the weekend.
