Quilting!


Our cadets designed a class quilt as they learned more about each other. Each square represents each cadet in the following categories: What would you do if you were guaranteed success? - What are two things that you are very good at? - Who is your hero/heroine? - What is one thing you would like to change about yourself? - and - What is something you believe in so strongly that no one could move you?

The new year began with a creative touch as this year's Teacher Cadets create scrapbooks entitled "All About Me." This scrapbook will chronicle their successes, achievements, values, learning styles and childhood memories as they work through the first semester.

Bulletin Board Preparation











The Teacher Cadets in conjunction with Mrs. Smith's class is on a mission to decorate and beautify Mauldin High School. We are adopting every neglected bulletin board in the hallways and giving them a facelift. We hope to promote school spirit and give the students ownership and pride in a part of their school. Look for boards to be finished on Monday, February 26th.

How BIG is that check?




Megan and Heather taught their "peer lesson" today, Friday, February 23. They taught about check-writing and maintaining a checkbook register. How many of us could benefit from taking that class?

The job application lesson from yesterday was complimented by a "peer lesson" from Jon & Stacy. They taught about appropriate behavior and strategies for job applications!

Peer Pressure!


Allison & Gayle taught their "peer lesson" today, Friday, February 16th. They produced a short puppet show addressing the issues of peer pressure. Then, they discussed various scenarios and their reprocussions.

Bethany & Michael taught their "peer lesson" today, Friday, February 16th. The objective was to successfully make cinnamon rolls. Looks like it was a success.

T-SHIRT TIME!


Our class t-shirts are finally ready. Here is a picture of the art proof. I made our suggestions to put "Teacher Cadet" on the back and Mauldin High School 2006-2007 on the front. I will request a price for hooded sweatshirts for those who are interested. Also, t-shirts will be around $10. Let me know what size you need and what kind of shirt you would like. Lessons from "MR DEEDS?"


Erin & Anothony taught their peer lesson today, February 15th. They focused on table manners in an elegant restaurant. They talked about and modeled appropriate behavior. They also showed clips from the movie, MR DEEDS as an example of how NOT to behave in a restaurant.

Valentine Deliveries!











The Cadets made and delivered "Rose Pens" to all of the female faculty members as a service project. The men were not forgotten!! They received valentines with candy. Happy Valentine's Day!

How to make Breakfast!!











Jatana and Jessica taught their "peer lesson" today (February 12) entitled "How to make Breakfast!!" They taught the steps to making pancakes, eggs and bacon teaching measuring and talking about the importance of nutrition. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed the end result!
